Environmental awareness is one of the values that has led GBE to develop increasingly efficient and high quality transformers. So, to improve them further can only lead to a reduction in CO2 emissions and running costs. In this context, it fits the new legislation ECODESIGN of the European community, a series of directives divided into two phases, which provides the replacement of all transformers that are not up to standard by 2025. According to the estimates of the European community, about 2.5% of the energy consumed in the continent comes from losses of the transformers. As of 1 July 2015, the first phase of the regulations will commence, the second phase will then come in 2021, where the parameters are much more restrictive. Thanks to this action by the EU, about 16TWh will be saved in a year, almost 3.7 tons of CO2. The legislation is applicable starting from a minimum power of 1 kVA 50Hz for machines used in electrical transmission and in distribution, as well as industrial applications.
